Pastor Misunderstands And Misrepresents The Message Of YAHWEH'S Petition

Pastor Joe Oakley of Grace Fellowship Church in Grand Prairie, Texas delivered a teaching sermon to his church today titled "Fake News About Grace."   A complete transcript of his sermon can be found here or the audio portion can be heard here.    I suspect that this sermon was a direct result of him having received YAHWEH'S Petition affixed to his church door on Sunday October 22, 2017.  Unfortunately, he successfully delivered another predominantly perverted-grace sermon, which is so rampant among most of the Christian churches today.  He distorted and twisted the epistles of the Apostle Paul even as the Apostle Peter warned about in 2 Peter 3:16-17; "As he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.  You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability."  I recommend the pastor to watch this short video, Twisted, and research the complete 8-part video teaching, The Pauline Paradox Series.  Pastor Joe Oakley also proclaimed adamantly from his pulpit that we cannot be saved by works and by keeping the Old Testament law of GOD, as if to imply that this claim is somehow a part of YAHWEH'S Petition .  Pastor Joe talked about the law of GOD as being divided into three different categories; Civil, Ceremonial, and Moral.  He stated that Christians are not obligated to keep the Civil or Ceremonial, they only need to keep the Moral.  I have searched the Scriptures and I cannot find these divisions or names mentioned anywhere in the Bible.  I suspect that the pastor is quoting from church doctrine, rather than from the Word of GOD.  I recommend the pastor watch this short video,  Moral Laws and the Covenant.  He also said, "We must learn which parts of the Old Testament ended at the cross – which parts were changed by the cross – and which ones continue. For instance – animal sacrifices ended at the cross because the sacrifice of Jesus is sufficient for all sins of all people. The Sabbath was changed by the cross. In Old Testament times the Sabbath had to be on the seventh day. Under the new covenant, you still need a day of rest every week, but you get to pick the day."  I searched the Scriptures about picking your own day of the week to observe as the Sabbath, and again I cannot find that in the New Testament or anywhere in the Scriptures.  Again, I think he may be alluding to the doctrines of men, rather than the Word of GOD.  In his sermon, Pastor Joe pits the Old Testament against the New Testament, Moses against Jesus Christ, and Christians against spiritual Israel.  Is GOD divided?  Is He not the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow?  Is the body of Christ divided?  Did the sacrifice of Christ not bring about the "One New Man?"  In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Gentile.  Are we not one united body?   Are we not all His special people, spiritual Israel?  I highly recommend that Pastor Joe research the awesome video, Identity Crisis.

"Almighty YAHWEH I pray that you will strongly urge Pastor Joe Oakley to do the research necessary to discover that he is indeed a part of your special people, spiritual Israel.  As such, he is obligated as a believer in your Son, Jesus Christ, to obey all of the covenant commandments delivered to Israel by Moses in the Old Testament.  Not in order to be saved - but rather because he is already saved.  I pray that as he researches these things that you will remove the veil of blindness and deception from his eyes, even as you have removed it from mine.  I declare publicly, YAHWEH, that I love this former pastor of mine with all of my heart and I only desire Your best for him and his family."
